Col de la Croix de Coeur: Durchgängig asphaltiert

  ...bin heute von Verbier über den Pass gefahren. Er ist nun durchgehend asphaltiert.
  Die Straßenqualität allerdings oft noch schlecht im Mittelteil.

  Neu asphaltiert an der nord seite in jahr 2022? Es war verdichteter schotter in 2021 ... . (Having a discussion about it with other cyclists as all the local websites only says it is still compacted gravel ... and not properly asphalted even if it looks a bit like proper pavement.)

  Die 13. Etappe des diesjährigen Giro führt von Verbier kommend über den Pass https://www.giroditalia.it/tappe/tappa-13-del-giro-ditalia-2023-borgofranco-divrea-crans-montana/ , üblicherweise werden nicht so optimale Strassen dafür extra hergepimpt , also zumindest ausgebessert oder streckenweise sogar frisch asphaltiert. Dies ist zu hoffen , damit dann auch mal die hier auf QD immer wieder aufflackernde Diskussion um die Oberflächenqualität dieser Passstrasse ein friedliches Ende finden möge ;-)

  Right, had forgotten I heard of the Giro passing by here in 2023 – not always they pave the roads properly in Italy for the Giro, but the chances and hopes are always there. Thanks!

  It can be assumed that the Swiss, who are usually very risk-averse, will do everything they can to ensure that no rider in the Giro crashes because of bad road conditions.

  Yes, but I took part in the Tour des Stations in 2021 and they never even informed about several gravel sections along the gran fondo road (never got to Croix de Coeur in time before they closed the race due to bad weather, but at least got 6300 hm before the end and have been to Croix de Coeur twice before). Some of the worst paved roads in all of Switzerland that they managed to find for the gran fondo – half the roads were to normal Swiss standards though.
